Ingredients of Chana Chaat

  1. You need 1 cup of black chane.
  2. Prepare 1 tbsp of oil.
  3. Prepare 1 tsp of jeera.
  4. Prepare 1/4 tsp of heeng.
  5. You need 1 tbsp of finely chopped ginger green chillies.
  6. You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
  7. Prepare 1 tsp of dhaniya powder.
  8. Prepare 1/4 tsp of haldi powder.
  9. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  10. You need 1/2 tsp of amchur powder.
  11. Prepare 2 of finely chopped onions.
  12. It’s 2 tbsp of finely chopped coriander.

Chana Chaat step by step

  1. Soak black chane for the whole night or for at least 6 hours.
  2. Then heat oil in a pressure cooker on low flame and add jeera and heeng, let it splutter then add ginger green chillies, saute for few seconds, then add red chilli, dhaniya and haldi powder, mix nicely.
  3. Now add the soaked chane and mix nicely. Add salt and 2 cups of water, close the lid..
  4. Cook on high flame for one whistle, then make the flame low and cook further for 15 – 20 minutes..
  5. When the cooker cools down completely then only open the lid, if there is any water left in the chane, then cook on high flame until all the moisture evaporates. In the end add amchur powder and mix well..
  6. Take out the ready chane in a bowl and add lemon juice, chopped onions and coriander, mix gently and serve. You can have these hot as well as cold..
