  1. It’s 1 cup of urad dal.

Dahi Vada step by step

  1. First wash urad dal and soak it in water for 1 hour..
  2. Now strain the water and wash it again for 2-3 times..
  3. Now in a mixer jar, grind it with very little water to a smooth paste..
  4. Now take it to a big bowl, using your hand beat it in one direction for 10 minutes, it's very important. After 10 minutes you will see it will get almost double in volume, it will be light and fluffy..
  5. Add salt and ginger, mix it well, add pinch soda bi carb and mix..
  6. Now fry it in hot oil. Once you fry it just keep it aside to cool and then add some curd on vadas and keep it in fridge, vada will absorb all moisture and ll be more soft. You can add hot vada to water aslo..
  7. Now in another bowl add curd, sugar, salt, and cream beat it well, now serve vada with curd and sprinkle some masalas on top. Serve with chutnys.
