Aam Panna, a beverage from my school days. Apart from aam ka panna, there are many traditional beverages posted on blog which you can make during summers. Few such recipes are For the sweetener, you can use sugar or jaggery. You can have Aam panna with jaggery using 7 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Aam panna with jaggery

  1. You need 2 of big Green Mangoes.
  2. It’s 2 teaspoons of Roasted cumin seeds.
  3. It’s 1 tablespoon of Kala namak (Black salt).
  4. You need 1/2 teaspoon of Crushed black pepper.
  5. You need 6 tablespoons of Grated Jaggery.
  6. You need 4 cups of Water.
  7. You need 1 handful of Fresh Mint leaves.

Since I made a video, I have used sugar as in some countries jaggery may not be available.   1. Wash and clean mangoes Put them in a pressure cooker with 1 glass of water and cook fr 3-4 whistles.
  2. Once they cool down, open the cooker and take out the mangoes Discard the skin and take out pulp with a spoon..
  3. When the pulp cools down take it to a blender and add spices and grated jaggery. Note: you can melt jaggery before adding to the pulp.
  4. Give a nice churn so that mango chunks become paste nicely blended with spices..
  5. This will a thick pulpy mass Add chilled water and ice cubes Add chopped mint leaves for garnish Serve chilled.

It is made from raw mangoes and is yellow to very light green in color, and is consumed as a tasty and healthy beverage to fight against the intense Indian summer heat. This is my mother favourite drink during summer time & she usually If you are a bit sugar-conscious then you can even replace sugar with jaggery.
